What is Crystal?

Crystal is a commonly known (also known as crystal diamond, rhinestone), its main ingredient is glass. Crystal diamond is a jewelry accessory made from man-made crystal glass cut into a faceted diamond. Which kind of material is much more economic, while there are eye-catching diamond-like feel to one's visual effect, so it's very popular in today’s fashion imitation jewelry.

Crystal

Crystal is generally used for mid-range of jewelry designs, as the current global man-made crystal glass manufacture is located in the Rhine north and south sides, we call it rhinestone. Production in the north called Austrian Swarovski Diamonds, because of the intense sunlight, they catch the sunshine more sufficiently, and with perfect gloss. In the other side of Rhine, we call them Czech Diamonds. The sunshine of south coast is much weaker, so they are less shiny.


Classification of Crystal:
By color, there are: white crystal, color crystal (such as pink, red, blue, etc.), aurora borealis crystal (AB crystal), color AB crystal (such as red AB, blue AB, etc.).

By shape, it can be divided into: normal crystal (circle), abnormity crystal. Abnormity crystal can be divided into oval stone, rhombic crystal (Marquise Stone), trapezoid crystal (Princess Stone), satellite stone, drop tear stone, flat bottom stone.

Facets of Crystal:
Most of the crystal has eight facets, with mercury plated on the back. Through the facets of the condenser, it has good brightness, more facets it has, brighter it will be. Swarovski is the first one who discovers the crystal glass’ facets.

Austrian Swarovski Crystal:
Swarovski crystal has a very high refractive index, because it could have more than 30 facets, the reflecting height give us a deep sense. Due to the strong hardness, the gloss will keep long, it is the leader in crystal.
“Swarovski” Crystal produced in 1895 in Austria, famous all over the world with its unique stone inlaid craft. In the end of the 18th century, Daniel Swarovski invented an automatic crystal cutting machine, since then, the crystal morphology could be changing, and make the charm reaches the acme.
Swarovski crystal products are not only synonymous with man-made crystal, but also a cultural symbol. It has a value that cannot be replaced, that is sentiment. Currently there are many Swarovski factories in the world, so Swarovski is a representative of the quality, not necessarily produced in Austria.

Czech Crystal:
Czech crystal always has about 10 facets, so it has a good refractive effect, and can reflect a very bright light, it has strong hardness, gloss retain around three years, the quality just after Austrian Swarovski Crystal.

Other Crystal:
In order to meet the market, some manufacturers produce their own crystal with low-cost manufacturing. The quality of these stone is below the Czech Crystal.
